Within a help project with financial resources of the Foreign Office of Germany the German Olympic Committee (DOSB) sent the internationally renowned instructor Dr. Flavio Bessi for two weeks in order to collaborate with the Federation of Gymnastics of El Salvador to improve the structures of the high performance sport.

Russian champions Aliya Mustafina (from Moscow) and Yuri Ryazanov (Vladimir) won the all-around titles at the 2009 Russian Cup, which held  in Penza (RUS). Juri Ryazanov, leading at the all-around qualification already, scored 89.450 at the final, followed by Sergei Khorokhordin (89.250) and by the youngster Emin Garibov, (85,850) the last year's European  junior champion on high bar (Lausanne, 2008).
