The women's artistic gymnastics squad of Russia won the International GB v Russia - Team competition in the Park Road Gym Centre, Saturdayof Liverpool last weekend with 146.000 to 142.275 points. (Score difference in 2003- 7.225 points, ...in 2004- 3.725 !)
Russia started with: Zamolodchikova, Pavlova, Ziganchina, Ezhova, Gabdrachmanova and Kriuchkova, the British host with Tweddle, Hobbs, Willis, Lennon, Roberts, Line and C.Galashan.

With deep mourning, the Gymnastics Federation of Luxembourg has to inform that its President, Mr. Marc Zanussi passed away unexpectedly.

Only 45 years old, Marc ZANUSSI died of a surf accident on June 24, 2004.

Dual Meet Great Britain - Russia
Once again the great Russian Team, Olympic 2000 Silver medallists, led by the “Queen” of Artistic Gymnastics Svetlana Khorkina, will arrive in Liverpool to challenge the British girls in the Friendly International GBR v RUS at the Park Road Gymnastics Centre in Liverpool, on June 26/27, 2004....it will also be a repetition of the Amsterdam's bars duel

The women's team of Romania (151,075 : 148,900) and the men's team of Spain (224,550 : 223,100) won the dual meet between Spain and Romania on Saturday in Madrid. Monica Rosu (ROM / 37,650) and Rafeal Martínez (ESP / 56,925) were the best of individual all around competitions.
For the first time after his absence due to a drug ban Gervasio Deferr (ESP), Olympic Champion on vault, took part in an international competition (on floor and vault only)....

Last weekend took place the 2004 Dutch Open of women's artistic gymnastics in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
The Dutch Suzanne Harmes from the 'Hazekamp', defended her all-around title on Saturday.
On second place came her teammate Loes Linders (36,475) and the bronze medal went to Berber van den Berg (35,550).
The competition will determine if a second Dutch gymnast meets the Dutch National Olympic Committee's criteria to compete in Athens.
