Olympic champion Nastia Liukin (USA) withdrew her name from consideration for the world gymnastics championships, saying she hasn't had enough time to train.
Liukin, the third U.S. woman in history to win the Olympic title, has been in high demand since she left Beijing, but the schedule wreaked havoc on her training regimen.

Russian champions Aliya Mustafina (from Moscow) and Yuri Ryazanov (Vladimir) won the all-around titles at the 2009 Russian Cup, which held  in Penza (RUS). Juri Ryazanov, leading at the all-around qualification already, scored 89.450 at the final, followed by Sergei Khorokhordin (89.250) and by the youngster Emin Garibov, (85,850) the last year's European  junior champion on high bar (Lausanne, 2008).
