It was not a surprise, that the Romanian women's artistic gymnastics team wins the Eight-Nations-Cup in Groningen, Netherlands, with a score of 111,025 points.
On second place came the national squad of Australia (107,950) and the young team of host Netherlands scored on third (107,750).
On Sunday team winner Romania was also the most successful nation at the apparatus finals, again: Monica Rosu (vault) and Alexandra Eremia (beam) were the best, but on bars won Elizabeth Tweddle (GBR)...

In the metropolis of the Dutch north, in Groningen, will held a 'Eight-Nations-Tournament' of women's artistic gymnastics today and on Sunday (finals).
Host is the 'Royal Dutch Gymnastics Union' (KNGU), but its team have some problems, because the Dutch stars Verona van de Leur, Renske Endel and Monique Nuiten are injured. So only a Dutch B-Team will fight against the national teams from Australia, France, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, Great Britain and Canada.
All nations will use this competition...

After the premiere in Riesa 2000 the European Gymnastics Union organizes the 2nd European Team Championships this weekend in Moscow.
More than twelve OLympic and world champions are among the favourite teams. So the former Ukrainian star Victoria Karpenko celebrates a comeback - in the team of her new homeland Bulgaria.

The Hungarian women's team of artistic gymnastics won a dual meet against the national team of Switzerland with a difference of 0,35 points, only:
136,425 : 136,075
Best in all-around was the 18 years old Swiss national champion Annelore Collaud with a score of 34,65 points. On second place came Danielle Englert (34,074/SUI ) and the best Hungarian came on third: Renata Kiss (34,05)....

The German national team of male juniors won in Avignon/France the traditional meet with a score of 206,70 against the host France (203,40), the team of Switzerland (200,10) and the boys from Great Britain (190,70).

The excellent all-around winner came also from Germany: The European Junior Champion on bars (Patras 2002) Fabian Hambuechen scored 53,95 points.
Arnaud Willig (FRA/51,20) came on second place and the second GErman Waldemar Eichorn (49,55) was third.
