Paul HAMM got the very first historical all-around gold medal for USA in artistic gymnastics worlds yesterday and the second medal in general after Kurt Thomas 1979 in Fort Worth.

Hamm scored 57,744, thats only a difference from 0.064 points to the second placed Chinese YANG, Wei, the Olympic silver medalist (Sydney 2000).

Bronze went to Hiroyuki TOMITA (JPN), because the best Japanese of preliminaries Tsukahara crashed on high bar.

In a big fight the U.S. Women's team won the gold medal of the team final with a score of 112,573 points. Titleholder Romania got 110,833 and won silver, but to the first time of history Australia won a team medal: Bronze for the 'Aussies' with 110,335 points!
The Chinese team lost on floor and came on 4th place.

CHINESE Women's Team is on top (148,671) after strong rotations of the team qualifications of the World Championships in Anaheim/USA.
So it was a little surprise, that titleholder ROMANIA (148,120) ranked on second place only, in front of the long time leadung U.S girls on third (147,697).
Russia and Spain together on fifth place, than Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, France, Canada and - another surprise - North Korea - are the twelve nations, qualified for the Olympic...

After their last gold medal 1999 in Tianjin the national men's team of China wins the gold medal in team competition again of these 37th World Championships in Anaheim, Cal./USA.
The U.S. successfully defends its silver medal from the 2001 Worlds in Ghent.
Japan - missed in 2001 -wins the bronze.

After the Belarus (titleholder) and the German disaster yesterday now the men's team finished their qualification of the 37th Worlds today.
Best team in the very last of the ten subdivisionS was host USA with a score of 227,743 points.
