Tanskanen chairs F.I.G. Athletes Commission

Georges Guelzec starts his UEG Presidency

From today on, the former French Olympic gymnast Georges GUELZEC (62) takes over as president of the European Gymnastics Union (UEG).
Guelzec defeated former president Dimitrios Dimitropoulos of Greece on 2009, November  7. A native of Nantes (FRA) Guelzec has experienced gymnastics at every level. After ten years on the French national team, including appearances in European (1969, '73) and Worlds (1970), as well as the 1972 Munich Olympics, Guelzec worked for 35 years as a coach...

Andrea Coppolino retired!

The Italian Gymnastics Federation announced the retirement of Artistic gymnast Andrea COPPOLINO.  The 30 year old specialist on still rings was a member of the Italian national team since 1996, boasting an exemplary sporting career. Coppolino competed in a total of eight Worlds and won the bronze on rings on two occasions: 2001 in Ghent (BEL) and 2003 in Anaheim (USA), where he tied with team-mate Matteo Morandi.
