After the expected Swiss success on vault by Giulia STEINGRUBER the hosts picked up the second gold through all-around European champion Aliya MUSTAFINA at the uneven bars.

Russia s David Belyavskiy is the new European All-around Champion

The competition for the European all-around crown of the modern men's artistic gymnastics today ruled the top favorite and Rissian local hero David Beliavsky in an impressive competition for themselve.
The only one of the top quartet he could increase towards the qualifying competition. Romanian Double Peak with Iordache and Bulimar vs. Russian Stars

The 34th WOMEN's Artistic Gymnastics European Championships 2013, - the 5th since 2005 as so-called "Individual ECh", began this morning in the Great Hall of the Olympic Sports Complex in Moscow with the qualifying rounds.
After completion of the preliminary fights, there was the expected dominance of Romanian gymnasts larisa Iordache and Diana Bulimar and the Russian hosts, with Anastasia Grishina, Aliya Mustafina and Ksenia Afanasieva.

Men s Qualification: Whitlock in front of Verniaiev and Belyavskiy

The first day of the 35th Men's Artistic Gymnastics European Championships finished after three subdivisions with 159 athletes, representing 37 different nations. At the end Max Whitlock from Great Britain was the best of all-around with a score of 89,365 points.
