DTB-Pokal 2014: Oleg Verniaev and Larisa Iordache won World Cup

The highest prize money (15,000 Swiss francs) conceded in men's all-around competition of the 32nd DTB Cup Ukrainians Oleg VERNIAIEV, winning with 91,731 in front of Sergio SASAKI JUNIOR from Brazil (90.565) and Donnell Whittenburg (90.398) from USA.
As so often Germany's Fabian Hambüchen after its deficits at the pommel horse chased with a rapid catch-up afterwards, but managed despite impressive stretching exercise on high bar (16.133!). At the end he ranked on fourth place, but still...

Max Whitlock up for BBC Sports Personality

British gymnast Max Whitlock has been shortlisted for the 2014 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The last 12 months has seen Max take World Championship pommel silver and all-around 4th in 2013 and then in 2014 retain his British all-around title, become European pommel champion, take three gold, one silver and one bronze at the Commonwealth Games and then become World Championships all-around silver medallist just last month.

5th Elite GYM Massilia 2014

November 15 / 16 took place the 5th "Elite GYM MASSILIA 2014, a traditional artistic gymnastics event un the South of France.
Best team of the Master competition in the Sports hall of Marseille was the Italian Team with 162,667 points, beating the Russian Equipe with 161,900 points. On third place came the Belgium team scoring 160,867 points, followed by France, Canada and Germany.
Best in all-around was Daria SPIRIDONOVA from Russio with 54,167...

37th Memorial Joaquin BLUME 2014

World Parallel Bars champion Oleg Verniaiev (UKR) and Spanish star Roxana Popa (ESP) were the big winners at the Joaquin Blume Memorial, held this past weekend in Barcelona (ESP).  Popa, the current Spanish national champion, captured second first major international All-around title at Blume, hitting the top scores of the meet on Vault (14.800), Uneven Bars (14.900) and Floor Exercise (14.400) to post 57.100 in the All-around. FIG Congress in Tashkent - a first for the country!
