WOMEN's World Cup Qualification Rounds
In the Lausitz-Arena in Cottbus (Germany), the qualifications of the FIG World Cup tournament closed successfully. The Chinese won twice - HE, Kexin on uneven bars and LI, Shanshan on balance beam, European Champion in vault Oksana Chusovitina (Germany) came in first on vault and Sandra Izbasa from Romania was best on floor.
57 gymnasts representing 24 different nations entered the competition.

About 70 young ladies from 32 countries are expected to come to the qualifications in Cottbus on Friday. More than one third of them - 26 to be exact - just participated in the recent European Championships in Clermont-Ferrand.
Of course, the new German European Champion on vault Oksana TSCHUSSOVITINA will be welcomed happily in Cottbus - by the way for the 12th (!) time since 1990 - actually she could receive the honorary citizenship of Cottbus for this...
For the international elite, the qualifications of the 32nd "TOURNAMENT of MASTERS" on Friday, April 11th, in the Lausitz-Arena in Cottbus will be the actual starting signal of the Olympic year 2008.
