The all-around fifth of last year's worlds in Aarhus, the Australian Dasha JOURA won last week's Australian trials (117,430) and leads its national team at the upcoming World Championships in Stuttgart.
Second at the trials was Lauren MITCHELL (116,997), third Chloe SIMS (114,665)...
On the men's side the Aussies may be missing reigning world high bar champion Philippe Rizzo (torn Achilles' tendon) in Stuttgart, but there are plenty of candidates jostling to take his place as team leader....

From August 8 - 18 the XXIV UNIVERSIADE 2007 was held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The artistic gymnastics competitions started on Thursday, August  9 with the women's team qualifications in the Arena Hall "IMPACT" Exhibition and Convention Center of Bangkok.

Triple Meet with strong German team  
Of course, the victory of the Rumanian national team in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, with 238,150 points, had been expected, but Germany ranked in second place with a difference of  1.45 points only; they also beat the Rumanian favorites on vault ( 58.45 : 57,75) and also on uneven bars (61,35 : 57,80).

Olympic Champion Catalina PONOR earned the highest score on balance beam (16.300 - team result: 63.100), but teammate Steliana NISTOR was the best...

Germany nominates its Worlds Team 
In the evening in Schaffhausen the men's triple meet took place:
The Romanian men's team was also the best and won with a score of exactly 365,00 points, followed by Germany (360,300) and the host Switzerland (354,100).

Best all-around was the bronze medallist of the last worlds in Aarhus, the German Fabian HAMBUECHEN, with a score of 91,850.
