Women’s Sports Foundation Award for Chusovitina!

34 year old German gymnast Oxana Chusovitina of Uzbek origin, multiple World Champion and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Silver Medallist, has been nominated by the Women’s Sports Foundation for the prestigious Wilma Rudolf Courage Award.
Chusovitina was recognised for the exemplary courage and strength she displayed when she increased her participation in international competitions to finance her son Alisher’s health care costs at a time when he was gravely ill.

2nd Pre Olympic Youth Cup 2009

Winner of the elite's all-around competiition of the 2nd Pre OLYMPIC YOUTH CUP 2009 in Bergisch Gladbach (Germany) was the 16-years old Elisabeth SEITZ (LZ Mannheim).
With a score of 54,800 points she topped her teammate Maike ROLL (TG Soellingen; 52,250). On third place came the Dutch Dianne TEUNISSEN from Pro Patria Zoetemeer with 50,650 points.

PREVIEW: 2nd Pre-Olympic Youth Cup 2009 ** GYMfamily Event

On the weekend of 22/23 May the Rheinischer Turnerbund (GER) will be continuing the tradition it began last year of holding a high-level international competition for female junior gymnasts.
Invitations are therefore now being issued to the "Second Pre-Olympic Youth Cup 2009" in Bergisch Gladbach.

The British Team took their home Grand Prix by storm with a magnificent six medals!
Beth Tweddle took two Gold’s to follow her double European championship Success on Bars and Floor.
