Morinari Watanabe from Japan is the New FIG-President

The 57 years old currently Secretary of the Japanese Gymnastics Asscciation, Morinari WATANABE, is the new and 9th President of the International Gymnastics Federation (F.I.G.), elected at the F.I.G. congress in Tokyo. He will take up this position 2017, January 1 and is the successor of the long-term president Bruno GRANDI (82) after 20 years presidency. 11th European TeamGym Championships 2016

Maribor - the Slovenian city of the legendary Olympian and numerous artistic gymnastics Olympic and world champion Leon STUKELJ (1898 - 1999) - will host the 11th European TEAMGYM Championships from 12 to 15 October 2016. 2016 FIG CHALLENGE CUPS ALL

A total of ten Challenge Cup the F.I.G. has set in the Olympic year 2016 into the World Cup calendar!
But between late February and July within just 17 weeks there were 9 B-World Cup Events - altogether in the time before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Italy won the 41st Leverkusen-Cup in front of England and Germany
For the 41st time, the German club "Turn-Club '72" in Leverkusen invited to the 2016 International Leverkusen-Cup to the Ostermann Arena on October 08.
Eight teams from five different nations offered the over 1,300 spectators an exciting gymnastics competition at a high and international top level in a great atmosphere.
