Kohei Uchimura missed chance for national high bar final ...

The "japantimes" reported, that Olympic Champion Kohei Uchimura failed to qualify for the horizontal bar finals at the Japan National Gymnastics Apparatus Championships on Saturday. The two-time reigning Olympic all-around men’s champion entered the competition aiming to execute the Bretschneider, in the final round, but slipped and fell from the bar before he could execute his dismount. He had a similar plan at a World Cup apparatus event in March, when he also failed to reach the horizontal bar final....

Today, Saturday June 23,  50 boys from 27 countries and 44 girls representing 25 European federation battled for their entry ticket to the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games which will be held in October in Buenos Aires (ARG). Kakeru Tanigawa - youngest Japanese Champion - Uchimura third only!

Not only is Kohei Uchimura‘s reign as world all-around champion finished, but he’s also no longer the Japanese national all-around champion. FIG Worlds Ambassadors 2018

In March 2018 the International Gymnastics Federation introduces the Gymnastics Ambassadors for all the 2018 World Championships.
The F.I.G. is pleased to announce the nine champions who will be the Gymnastics Ambassadors at its 2018 World Championships.
"We are delighted that these major names, who in their own way have each made history in their discipline and influenced their sport, have agreed to act as Ambassadors," said Morinari Watanabe, President of the FIG.
