The 1st finals day in the dreamlike theater arena of the 'City Hall' of Cottbus took place in a wonderful atmosphere.
Following his already strong performance in the qualification Diego Hypolito from Brazil won the first final on floor. Jana Bieger also managed to repead her explosive performance from yesterday on vault and won this final. The victory on pommel horse went to Krisztian Berki from Hungary.

Aussie's Balance: 6-6-6 ...Gold, Silver, Bronze...!
Australian Joshua Jefferis has won gold for Australia in the Men’s All-Around Artistic Gymnastics final at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with an overall score of 89.45. Canadian Nathan Gafuik won the silver and Australian Philippe Rizzo secured the bronze. Rizzo and Jefferis are both members of the Men’s Team that won silver behind Canada on the first day of the competition.

Strong performances on the beam and the vault helped the Australian gymnasts secure the Women's Team gold medal ahead of England and Canada.
The Australians scored 172.600 points to win by 8.250 points from England, which was without its injured captain, Beth Tweddle.
